Landlords and tenants often get different results on the same legal issue from one jurisdiction to another, and from one judge to another. While this is always true to a degree, with the sweeping changes to landlord-tenant law there is far more room for interpretation.
Also, while there were no-cost attorneys in many major Washington counties in the past, there is now a right to counsel in all eviction cases.
The upshot of all this is that there are far more eviction appeals than ever before in Washington.
