Washington to Eliminate Certified‑Mail Requirement for Eviction Notices (Expected June 2026)

Washington’s eviction‑notice rules have now been amended in back‑to‑back legislative sessions, and the most significant change for landlords is coming in 2026: the certified‑mail requirement is being eliminated. HB 2664 has passed both chambers unanimously and is currently on the Governor’s desk.
