Travis Eller has been representing people in real estate transactions and litigation for more than twenty years. He has pursued hundreds of evictions for both residential and commercial landlords. The National Institute for Trial Advocacy awarded Travis Eller its Advocate designation. In commercial cases Mr. Eller represents both landlords and tenants.
Although Bellingham law allows residential landlords to serve a 60-day notice to terminate a tenancy, state law now requires just cause to evict and at least 90 days' notice for most reasons other than nonpayment or other breaches of the rental agreement. The termination date must be the last day of a rental period (typically a calendar month). There is an exception if the owner lives in the same dwelling unit, and rents a portion of it to the tenant. Note that currently landlords and owners must comply with eviction moratoriums, in addition to local landlord-tenant laws.
We represent businesses in contract disputes and have years of trial and Court of Appeals experience.
